Biography

  From the moment that the first photographic camera came into his hands and he discovered the magic of being able to capture ideas and emotions, Jorge Treviño has not stopped being amazed by the world that he perceives, making it his own and expressing it through his images.

 After he studied for many years different photographic techniques in Mexico city and having his first exhibit in 1988, he understood that the perception-expression process does not conclude until the ending result of it is shared and comes back to the magic world from which it came.

 His last solo exhibition was preceded by 7 solo and 3 group ones, and different activities such as his participation in different Photo Festivals, still photography in movies and theater and  member of the jury in photo contests to name a few.

 One can say that his images are not “his” images, but the representation of the way he perceives them, creating his own style that could be considered as hyper realist – surrealist, making shots of that which most of us are not aware of.

 For him, his camera is another organ of a joyful physiology that does not get tired of observing, as in the most pure voyeur fashion, obtaining with this the power of developing more and more each time his refined techniques and perceptive faculties.

 While being in front of any of his art work, one can’t stop watching it or avoid being transported to any place in mind, to a world of images and emotions that only one is aware of and knows of its existence.

 His free spirit and the passion that he feels for life and its manifestations are shown in his work as momentary reflections expressed in a continuous way.

 Originally from Mexico City and its Metro area, Jorge lives in Cabo San Lucas and travels the rest of the world and beyond…

Biografía

Desde el momento en que la primer cámara fotográfica llegó a sus manos y descubrió la magia de poder capturar ideas y emociones, Jorge Treviño no ha dejado de maravillarse del mundo que percibe, de hacerlo suyo y expresarlo por medio de sus imágenes.

Después de haber estudiado por varios años diversas técnicas fotográficas en la Cd. de México, y de haber participado en 1998 en su primer exposición, comprendió que el proceso de percepción–expresión no se concluye hasta que el resultado de éste se comparte y regresa al mundo mágico de donde vino.

A su última exposición individual le precedieron 6 individuales y 3 colectivas y diferentes actividades como participacion en diversos Festivales Fotográficos, Fotografía fija en cine y teatro y jurado en concursos de foto, por mencionar algunas.

Podría decirse que sus imágenes no son “sus” imágenes, sino la representación de la forma en que las percibe, creando su propio estilo que podría considerarse como hiper realista-surrealista, haciendo tomas de lo que muchos no nos damos cuenta.

Su cámara es para él un órgano más de una gozosa fisiología que no se cansa de ver, como en el más puro estilo vouyerista, consiguiendo con esto el poder de desarrollar cada vez mas sus depuradas técnicas y habilidades perceptivas.

Al estar frente a alguna de sus obras, uno no puede el dejar de observarlas ni el evitar ser trasladado a cualquier lugar en la mente, a un mundo de imágenes y sentidos que solo uno conoce y sabe que existe.

Su espíritu libre y la pasión que siente por la vida y sus manifestaciones son mostrados en su obra como reflejos momentáneos expresados de forma continua.

Jorge inicia en la Cd. de México y su área Metropolitana y actualmemnte reside en Cabo San Lucas y viaja por el resto del mundo y más allá…
