Viñeta Biográfica

  "A  Jorge tengo algunos años de no conocerlo. Siempre me sorprende. Sé que estudió. Por su cultura, su vocabulario, sus depuradas técnicas. Pero lo espontáneo e intuitivo no provienen de la escuela. Tiene un estilo epicúreo de sentir la vida, especialmente con la amistad. Sus imágenes no son “sus” imágenes sino la forma en que las percibe. Se hace amigo de lo que ve y se revela como algo único, haciendo tomas de lo que muchos no nos damos cuenta. Existen variadas formas de usar las máquinas, para  él su cámara es un órgano más de una gozosa fisiología que no se cansa de ver, ver, ver..

   Dicen que los viajes ilustran,  aunque me parece que Jorge ilustra sus viajes. No sé su  fecha de nacimiento pero bien pudo haber nacido de un “blues”, de una buena rola para escucharse entre el trago y la mirada de complicidad de una desconocida. Cosmopolita, tan de los setentas como actual, no sabe que es un alma milenaria que ya recorrió todos los caminos y ahora los vuelve a andar por el simple acto de querer. Como dije, esto no lo sabe y no se lo voy a decir.

   Así que a lo mejor ésta es una biografía de lo actual en la que ya están contenidos los datos, los nombres, las fechas. Para corroborarlos basta conocer su obra o irte a tomar una copa con él. Así me lo presentaron y todavía no acabamos de conocernos, lo cual me parece formidable. "

Biographical Vignette 

   "Jorge... I have not known him for some years. He always surprises me. I know that he studied. Because of his culture, his vocabulary, his refined technics. But his spontaneousness and intuitiveness do not come from school. He has an epicurean style of feeling life, especially with friendship. His images are not “his” images but the form in which he perceives them. He becomes friends with what he sees and develops as something unique, capturing shots of that which most of us we do not realize. There exists various ways of using machines, for him his camera is another organ of a joyful physiology that does not get tired of watching, watching, watching.

   They say that travels illustrate, although it seems to me that Jorge illustrates his travellings. I do not know his date of birth but he might as well could had been born out of a “blues”, from a good tune to be listened between a drink and the look of complicity of a lady stranger. Cosmopolitan, so much of the seventies as well as contemporary, he does not know that he is a millenarian soul that has walked all paths and now he walks them again for the simple act of wanting to do so. As I said, this he does not know and I am not going to tell him so.

   So perhaps this one is a biography of the present in which already the data are contained, the names, the dates. In order to corroborate them, enough is to know his work or go and have a drink with him. This is how he was introduced to me and yet we have not finished knowing each other, which for me it seems formidable."
